Define "Follow"

An interesting entry appears in Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary, the dictionary that would most match Joseph Smith's understanding of words during his life.
FOL'LOW, v.t.
15. To adhere to; to honor; to worship; to serve.
How might Joseph perceive the singular LDS doctrine of "Follow the Prophet" in light of this understanding?
